Dogwatch Café Supports Hospice Southeastern Connecticut

May 13, 2009 - The Dog Watch Café in Stonington, Connecticut announces their support of Hospice Southeastern Connecticut by donating a portion of the proceeds of any lunch or dinner patron who mentions the non-profit organization on June 1, 2009.

Patrons may have lunch or dinner at the restaurant on that day.  By telling their server that they are supporting Hospice Southeastern Connecticut, the restaurant will donate 20% of the price of the meal.

“We believe strongly in supporting the community in which we live and work. That is why the Dog Watch Cafe sponsors benefits for nonprofit organizations. These benefits have been very successful, and are a true "win-win" situation for everyone,” said co-owner David Eck.

Co-owner Clay Burkhalter adds, “Hospice Southeastern Connecticut has been raising funds through sailboat races in the area for 20 years.  We know many of our patrons are supporters of this community-based organization.  That’s why we knew this was a great fit and we’re happy to help however we can.”

Hospice Southeastern Connecticut has served over 6,500 patients since 1985.  The agency provides end of life care in the home to patients of any age with any terminal illness. Care is also provided in Skilled Nursing Facilities. Bereavement services are available to anyone experiencing grief and loss in the southeastern Connecticut community.
